What is this Vitaly Rules Google stuff?

Vitaly rules google ☆*:。゜゚・*ヽ(^ᴗ^)ノ*・゜゚。:*☆ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯(ಠ益ಠ)(ಥ‿ಥ)(ʘ‿ʘ)ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ヽ(゚Д゚)ノʕ•̫͡•ʔᶘ ᵒᴥᵒᶅ(=^ ^=)oO is one of the latest examples of a new generation Google Analytics spam that our monitoring tools have picked up. Previously we saw referrer spam where spammers would pollute the source / medium dimension in Google Analytics, but recently it has spilled over to other dimensions as well. If you're seeing sessions with that exact browser language then your analytics account has been a victim of spammers that pollute your stats in order to get your attention.

If you check the source / medium of this traffic you will notice and listed as referrals, with the full referrals being twitter .com/3mapsVitaly and blackhatworld .com/seo/this-guy-not-one-f-ck-given.897424/ . These are real addresses on twitter and blackhatworld that the spammer uses in order to apparently boost his puny ego. At this point this seems to be the main goal of the spammer, rather than previously when he was trying to get you to visit the URL in question so you are then duped into purchasing services or products from them, or using free tools they benefit from (e.g. browser plugins) and monetization was basically the same as with e-mail spam.

It is important to understand that there is nothing you can do on your site or server (.htaccess rules, WP plugins, firewalls, etc.) as this is ghost traffic that bypasses your server and targets Google Analytics directly using what is called "Measurement Protocol". Unlike regular bot spam, ghost traffic appears only in your GA reports.
